Roles and Capabilities

    We’re debating whether to use BP, and we have the need for multiple roles within each Group, and we’ll need to have a fairly complex system of permissions (roles and capabilities).

    I can’t seem to find any information as to where BP currently stands on this.

    Does BP use the built-in WP roles/caps system?

    Is there any documentation on it?

    The fact that this site has no (working) search function is quite disappointing. It suggests that this platform is buggy and is not widely supported.

    Yes.

    You can create plugins that do things, such as custom post types, that use the WP roles/caps system.

    The group roles admin/mod are not WP roles/caps

    Are there specific capabilities to display the activity and groups
    I am looking for this to be available for the editor role.
