Search posts by profile fields

Is there a way to allow members to post content onto the blog (they don’t have their own blog, they just submit content to a main one in which I oversee) and then be able to search through the postings based on member profile fields?
I know that there is a BP Profile Search plugin that searches for members based on profile fields but what I’m looking for is a way to search or filter through posts based on member profile field criteria.
Is this possible or is there some sort of plugin available that allows for this?
