Seems Too Simple, but The Time Stamp on all BP Activity is 5 hours off

    This might seem like a silly question, but being new to BP I absolutely cannot figure out how to adjust the time stamp. It is correct in the WP dashboard, but all activity has 5 hours added. Any ideas anyone.

    Did you change the timezone to the correct setting?

    Some have experienced remedying the problem by selecting the UTC offset instead of the country / city.

    You might also need to set the server’s timezone correctly. Contact your network admin for help on this.

    Thanks Ray, Yes the general setting is set correctly. I’ll try the UTC offset first and then on to servers timezone. Thanks a bunch!

    Weird this does not happen from buddypress 1.2.6 and down @djpaul

    Earlier versions of timestamps in BuddyPress were inconsistent and flawed; 1.2.6 may have been the release where the problem was fixed. I have *extensively* looked into reports of it still not working with 1.2.7/1.2.8 and have been unable to reliably recreate the problem.

    !.2.6 saw the final correction to this fun little mischief maker, there were, however, later reports of issues but as I recal those it did prove to be down more to an oddity in WP between UTC Vs. City in the timezone selection – at least changing this aspect sorted seemed to sort it for many.

    I don’t think we ever had a version !.2.6 :)
