SEO for Buddypress

I was trying to use the SEO for buddypress plugin by sven lehnert.
There is an old version and a newer one, but I encountered problems with both.
two questions –
1. when I used the new version clicking on the “Save changes” button didnt do anything.
2. I tried the older version – I couldnt get the plugins page to work.

Any Insight on that?
