Site Wide Activity: No Group Leaving recorded

Not sure if this is by design – when someone JOINS a GROUP, this activity is shown in Site Wide Activity. When the person LEAVES a GROUP, this activity does not show. Displaying one and not the other seems odd to me.
Anyone know whether this is by design?
