I have a site wide notice widget on my site but was wondering how an admin could possibly message my entire database where the notice populates in their in box?

    Hi @pssawhney

Site notices and private messages are separate; so there’s no need to populate every member’s inbox.

But is there a feature to message users in their in box?

To send a message to all users, go to your profile > Messages > Compose
and select the checkbox that says “This is a notice to all users”.

It will send a message, not a notice.
I agree that the use of the word notice is rather confusing.

uh, shane, respectfully, that’s exactly wrong. Doing what you describes makes that text pop up in a notice banner at the top of the page….

I would love to be able to message all users (not email: site message) but that seems, weirdly, impossible.

I know this is an old post, but I hope this reply can help someone.

There is a free plugin that allow to send Mass Messaging to all members of the site, and also to filter them, you can find it here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/mass-messaging-for-buddypress-by-alkaweb/

Personally I use “Mass Messaging in BuddyPress” ( https://wordpress.org/plugins/mass-messaging-in-buddypress/other_notes/ ), It works quite fine, and It has some more featured than “Mass Messaging for BuddyPress – by Alkaweb”
