Sorry, no members were found

  • Hello everyone,

I recently installed Buddypress and have been running into some problems with the member section and inviting new members to join. I am using the ‘Invite Anyone’ plugin, however the problem persists even when all plugins are deactivated, and I even started a new installation on a different site and ran into the same issue.

    1) At http://community.altschool.me/members it suggests that there are 6 members, however when I select ‘All Members’ it returns “Sorry, no members were found.”.

    2) When I invite people to join groups through the Invite Anyone plugin, everything works fine until they are click on the link in the activation email and receive the notification “Invalid activation key, please provide a valid activation key”.

Has anyone seen either of these issues before? These did not seem to be a problem a week ago.

    Thanks in advance, Mat

Members created in the WP back-end don’t appear in the members list until the first time they login to the site. This is “by design”, and is due to the way user accounts work in WordPress. Its also an optimization to prevent (potentially) huge numbers of users that have never used the site from slowing it down.

Thanks for that information, that is interesting.

I don’t think that is the source of this problem though, as a number of these members have logged in (including myself) and are not visible. It is currently listing 6 members of the front end ‘All Members’ tab, yet when I click the tab it gives me that error.

bump, anyone have an idea what is going on?
