hi, i’m using bbpress 2.5.8 and buddypress 2.3.4. the problem is that if i set the default BBpress capability to spectator (for all new users) , and then i create a private buddypress group, the user can join the group but can´t see the forum. SO i tried to use members plugin to change the capability of spectator to be able to read private forums but is locked-down…and if i add the read private forum capability to a WP role for example “subscriber” it doesn´t work, apparently is not capable of override the BBpress permissions…. what can i do to allow spectators to see forums inside a private buddypress group?

The default role for bbPress is Participant.
How did you set it to Spectator?
And why?
Do you not want members to be able to post in group forums?
