[Resolved] Speeding up buddypress

Hi all,
I spent some time yesterday playing with YSlow and Pagespeed and a bunch of options to get my site loading faster and I thought I’d share and ask others for their experience/thoughts.
These are the things I am trying out:

* FV Gravatar Cache (plugin)
* WP Minify (plugin)
* Using dropbox as a CDN http://bp-tricks.com/featured/dropbox-cdn-host-buddypress-wordpress-theme/ (for now until I set up a ‘proper’ CDN)

Pagespeed also suggests browser caching, I know that some caching tools can cause issues with buddypress, does anyone have any suggestions of the best settings or a walkthrough for this?

I mistakenly posted above, we are using “database” caching. Object caching did not work for us and caused many problems with others seeing other users names appear when viewing private messages as well as other object cache related issues.

ok, good to know.

So exactly what does database caching do? I know it sounds obvious, but what things are cached and what is left purely dynamic? Is it only for logged in or out users? Or both?

Sorry for being vague, but again, it would be great if there was a definitive doc on this (being WT3 and BP).

In that article, they recommended DB cache to be off, yet you have it on. Why?

It speeds up my site… I’m using opcode xcache for database cache, so my guess is that people using “disk” aren’t experiencing the gains.
