statcounter plugin – wp_footer adequate?
-
The statcounter plugin has this:
add_action('wp_footer', 'add_statcounter');
Will that adequately cover the WPMU install as well as buddypress? Just wanted to make sure it didn’t miss anything in buddypress, the WPMU install, or the dashboard pageloads. I want to capture every pageload on the site, including my theme that I use for all blogs.

I have also been looking for a stats plugin for WPMU/BP.
I wish I could figure out how to use statpress reloaded to work with BP. Thats what I use on my wordpress blogs.
trust me, use statcounter.com, it’s amazing, free, fast, and invisible
i just want to make sure this plugin will adequately cover all of buddypress as well.
BeLogical,
The plugin for statcounter claims to only be compatible upto WP 2.5. Were you able to get it working properly for the latest versions?
Original question: yes it’s fine
oh you guys, please use Google Analytics!! i’ve seen some really inflated numbers with statcounter… probably because you can log in as the admin and actually *define* the “number of page views” you want to start out with (seriously, what’s that about??)! GA is much more accurate and granular. And it’s free, too. AND there are a handful of plugins for that, as well. http://yoast.com/wordpress/google-analytics/
I use google analytics for BP as well as my regular WP sites. However, I still end up using statpress plugins for my regular WP sites, I guess because they are right there in your dashboard and give immediate uptodate information.
I agree that the overall statistics for statpress are always higher than google analytics (I actually have no idea which is accurate) but for checking if your site has had any activity in the past few hours, there is no better than statpress.
