Submit post to your buddypress site

Is there a way that you can post status updates to your buddypress site from external websites such as as your blog? Twitter does it like this – http://twitter.com/home?status=http://yourwebsite.com/link. Can this be done with BP so that you “bookmark” from an external site and it pre populates the post form on your BP profile, and you only need to click on “Post Update”.
