Template question

Hi: Am I right to conclude that in this latest version of BuddyPress the front (home) page is either one of the 2 only templates now available for download (including default) or use skeleton theme to build it more-or-less from start? The older version of BP allowed the use of any theme.. can this still be done? There are some terrific designs out there, plus I since I am deploying 3 or 4 sites on different topics, I risk having sites that look like each other. Thanks for the feedback.

By default, the BP packaged theme is a child theme that uses the “bp-sn-parent” theme for the homepage, but you can always override it by copy and pasting home.php over to your child theme.

In this case, you would copy home.php from “bp-sn-parent” over to “bp-default” to override it.

If you’re starting from scratch, I would make a copy of the “bp-default” directory, rename the folder and start experimenting.

    Hope I didn’t confuse you!
