Thinking about BuddyPress for WordPress Multi-Site. Will it do what I want?

I use multisite to create and maintain several sites, all with the same design and content structure, but for different locations. I would like to have a forum that all the offices share, so that all topics, moderators, users would have access to the same content no matter what site they are on.

I don’t want them to have to leave their site to get to the forum. It sounds like Buddy Press will do exactly what I’m looking for. Comments? Thanks.

BuddyPress forums are group based by default, so you could set each group up to be an office and each office would get its own forum. It would all come together on the forums directory. From what you wrote it doesn’t sound like you’ll be needing all the social networking that ships with BP, so WP MS (setting offices up as blogs) and a standalone forum (without BP) might be better suited to your needs.

Thanks, Travel-Junkie. I think you’re right. A standalone forum would probably be fine. Now, I need to figure out how to get them all to share one forum.
