Translation issue… .po .mo not working?

Hey guys,
So I edited the .po file and created the .mo file once and it worked.. now i needed to make some more changes and did it again… but this time the changes are not taking effect…
I tried deleting the .po and .mo of the server and loading the new ones and nothing happens.. i even deleted everything in the languages folder and nothing really happens… any ideas?
does the .pot file have to be in the server as well?
