Translation works, but not on Activity-screen

Hi, using WP 3.2.1 with BuddyPress 1.5.1 and sitewide bbPress 2.0 installed through BuddyPress…
Translations work fine for the most part, but some terms will not be translated in the Activity-page (like %$1s replied to the topic %$2s in the forum %$3s)… while other terms DO get translated. I’m 100% sure the translation is there in the po and mo files. I’ve put the mo and po files with a bunch of different names EVERYWHERE (plugin-folder, buddypress/bp-languages, bbpress, bbpress/bbp-languages, etc).
How can I make sure these terms DO get translated? Hardcode it somewhere? I’ve tried everything so a little trick or two, I wouldn’t mind…
