Update deleted my version and now wont update new version

Hi
I am a novice when it comes to website however when I updated from your previous version of the new version all sorts of issues. It deleted the previous version and now won’t let work it wont even update the newer version. So my groups now don’t work. I am about to launch but can’t due to this issue. can you suggest what i do.
