Upload Avatars

Guys,
I have seen a lot of problems with uploading avatars. Actually I have a problem with it too.
I’m using wordpress 3.0, BP 1.2.5.2, and you can see it working here http://www.avesso.com.br/social
Avatars are uploading correctly but they aren`t showing at the pages.
I try to follow a tip that I found here about create a bp-custom.php and it does not work.
The diretories permissions are 777.Can anyone help me?
