User registration approval by admin

    BuddyPress works quite well except for User registration moderation. I used to work with theme-my-login in order to keep user ‘pending’ until admin approval. I can’t find a way to keep it running. New user immediately receive e-mail with a activation key regardless of admin opinion.
    If I uncheck ‘anyone can register’ then people cannot apply. If I check it then I have no control. Is there a meedle term where admin could moderate registration ?
    I use BuddyPress and Private BuddyPress.

    It’s certainly an issue of concern. There are workarounds but they’re not always easy:

    Many thanks but nothing really works automaticly as it does on WordPress with theme-my-login or equivalent plugins.
    I tried to use the ‘pending’ status for user and it does not work either.
    At the end of the day, I use Buddypress and Private BuddyPress and I unclick the ‘anyone can register’ tick box.
    – Users are then created manually by the Admin. Probably the most effective moderation.
    – Blog and pages are public, social network remains private.
