@username on user profile is misleading. Says it links to a different user.

When I expand the @username1 link on a user’s profile I get this:
@username1 is a unique identifier for username2 that you can type into any message on this site. username2 will be sent a notification and a link to your message any time you use it.
different user names belonging to different individuals.

Activity is turned off in bp component configuration
Plugins: Buddypress usernames only, group docs, forum extras, seo advanced.
manual patch: time synchronization for messages and sitewide activity.Anybody else experiencing this?
