@username ? why not @nickname !

Hi all!

Is it somehow possible to make the @username-referral work for @nickname as well?

I mean, why do the users have to think over their usernames, then be able to choose a nickname, make it their displayname, when in fact the sitewide referral via @nickname is not working…

I think it would be more userfriendly, if @nickname worked as well as so far only @username does.

Was it possible to understand my request? 🙂

And if I am just missing something here, would you please point out how I can achieve what I desire?

nicknames change, usernames don’t, (the best way?) would be to forget display names, and only use usernames thus making it more “user-friendly”

Hi,

When posting on my friend’s wall, I see my post with his/her name like @username HEY!!!.

But when I check my personal page, I see duplicate post. @username HEY!!! and HEY!!!.

It is saving two posts in database with and without @username.

Here is the sample link. You can see duplicate post message “IDOL”.
