Usernames are only displaying in lowercase?

Hello,
I currently use the member’s username as their display name, however I’m running into a bit of a snafu. For some reason, they only show up in lowercase, despite the actual username being in mixed case.
Ex: Actual Username = @JohnDoe | Display Name = @johndoe | Desired Display Name = @JohnDoe
I’d like to point out that there is absolutely no CSS affecting the display name’s capitalization. The source always outputs it as lowercase.
Having tried in vain to figure this out, does anyone have any ideas as to a function I could input that would stop the lowercase of the username from being the only output?
