    @rebelangelo

    Hi,

    I am getting notifications email like new friendship, comments, etc.. but can’t get new registration activation email.

    I’ve install facebook-login plugin and seems like it blocked buddypress registration mail I think. However, when I deleted this plugin I still couldn’t get activation email.

    I tried to repair buddypress from Tools->Buddypress and still have this problem

    Also I am using WP-Mail-SMTP for this email actions.

    My budyypress version is 2.6.1.1

    Thanks

  • Do other BuddyPress emails get sent?
    Do WordPress emails get sent? (comment notification, new user registration, etc).

    I’ve deleted and reinstalled WP-Mail-SMTP, changed the notification email and reconfigured all mx and spf settings on hosting and now I don’t have problem anymore

    Thanks

    Great!

    @sounds

    Thank you for the pointer, I fixed my email sending issue by installing WP-Mail-SMTP plugin,

    I set it to Send all WordPress emails via SMTP.
    I ticked Set the return-path to match the From Email.

    I’m using cPanel email so I logged into my cPanel email and clicked Set Up Mail Client link
    You’ll see the username and password and port you need to put in the plugin config.

    SMTP Port: local
    SMTP Port: the outgoing port
    For encryption I selected use SSL as I have the free SSL installed for cPanel.

    Yes: Use SMTP authentication.

    Username: your email address
    Password: Email password

    And that’s it.

    Now new users who register an account are getting the email to activate their own accounts.

    Jesus why didn’t I notice this earlier but the old plugin I was using is broke: WP Mail From II
