Viewing a profile using a template

When a user goes to his or her profile how would I go about changing the template so that they don’t see the side bar when they are on there profile page? I’d like this to be set up for when any user does anything related to there profile, ex. profile, settings, etc… Hopefully this makes sense, if someone could tell me how to change it or point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it.

Bump, anyone? Having difficulty finding the right php file that would contain this information. I’m assuming it’s something simple as adding something like “ or like deleting a line of code.

    hi @henry0,
i am also new to buddypress and trying to do some reading. have you tried using author page template (author.php)? like the one mentioned here: https://codex.wordpress.org/Author_Templates

i was not able to test it right now due to some access restrictions. but if anyone could confirm this it will greatly appreacited (i need it also) :-)

I dunno, there should be a chunk of code that is telling buddypress to display the sidebar for the profile page. Or, there should be a chunk of code that would get rid of the side bar for the profile page. I’ll have to skim over that article. You should just be able to use that “full page” template but I’m not even sure where to modify this section. I think it’s under members-profile-profile.php but I could be wrong.

The only thing I’ve come up with so far is that you could write a conditional statement that would disable the sidebar on a specific page, but I know theirs another more effective way of doing this.
