We are running 4.1.1 WordPress for our website reliantmarine.com. We currently don’t blog on our existing site, but we were trying to download 2.2.1 BuddyPress so that we could start doing that with members, groups, forums, etc. I’m not sure what the issue is, but when I try to activate BuddyPress, it removes our site’s homepage sliders as well as all drop down menus on the top of our page. Can anyone tell us why is this happening?

  • You need to provide more information such as theme in use, plugins etc.

This is more than likely theme related, using a premium theme that doesn’t play nicely with BP, you can test this by activating one of the WP default themes and seeing if issue persists, if it does disable any plugins not required for a basic WP/BP site.

The theme we are using for our website is MiniBuzz3. As for plugins, there are only a few that are active: All in One SEO pack, Clean Contact, Hello Dolly, Mobile Web Builder by Duda Mobile, and NOAA Weather.

MiniBuzz seems a bit outdated, and given as compatible up to WP 3.8 ! May work, but wouldn’t recommend to use it with WP 4.1.1 and BP 2.2.1

You have to debug ! 😉
