Yeah, I’ve had to disable it too. DJPaul’s not been around as much recently, so I assume he’s busy IRL, but hopefully he’ll be able to have a look at this and Achievements, which are my two favorite plugins for engaging users in a new site.
(If you don’t mind, I’ll hijack this a bit to ask that if he does get to a new version, that we have the option of suppressing the flurry of emails sent to the user when the Welcome Pack kicks in (or maybe there’s an easier way)?)

Hehe, when we first enabled the plugin on one of our sites, it created a mail queue so long, that due to our host’s spam-prevention mail limitations, it took three days to send out all the mails. Not a complaint though, Achievements is a fun plugin, and we have it on three of our installations.
Back on topic though. There was a forum post somewhere about how to write defaults into a plugin, but I can’t find it. Any ideas? I might just use Welcome Pack for self-educational purposes, but need it to do some more specific things.
Thanks for the heads up.
yeah, I’ve kinda gotten dependent on that plugin now.
Just uploaded new version of Welcome Pack. I tested it again the trunk revision as that’s very close to release as BP 1.1.3.
It’ll *probably* work with BP 1.1.2!
