What\\\'s the best way to edit the registration page?

I need to make some modifications to locations of some of the texts on the registration page. What is the easiest/hassle free way to make changes to, what I think is a core page, in Buddypress. I’m trying to avoid overwriting whenever there is a new update (Buddypress or WPMU).
I think the location is:
wp-includes/registration.php
Please correct me if I’m wrong about the location.

The best way is to create a child theme, as per https://codex.buddypress.org/how-to-guides/building-a-buddypress-child-theme/, and to copy over registration/register.php from buddypress/bp-themes/bp-default into the child theme. Then you can make modifications til the cows come home
