What’s the BP way to incorporate multi-valued profile attributes

Is there a common buddypress way for support of multi-valued profile fields?
For example, how could I support an attribute `colors_i_like` with
values a subset of `{‘red’, ‘green’, ‘blue’, ‘yellow’}`?I’m a BP newbie just getting my feet wet in this awesome piece of software!
