    Hello,

I am thinking of using special theme for buddpress on my sub domain and wordpress (e-commerce) theme on my domain. Can I make single sign in for them all? If yes, how?

    Thanks

    Is it a recommended idea?

If you mastered the situation and know what you do, almost any idea is “recommanded”. 😉

You can do this by using a multisite install.

BP installed on the main site with his own theme (your-site.com) and another blog on sub-domain (mysub-domain/your-site.com) with another theme.

This is the most easiest install option. But you can also install BP on a secondary blog.

Registering is made on the main site, as it would be the hart of your network, and by consequence, the unique place where user can register.

Thank you. That was really helpful.
I want to evaluate the whole situation because I will use Magento for e-commerce on store.mydomain.com and I don’t know if this will work when I use fishPig.
I will build a huge website, I was thinking that instead of running multiple websites, I will run one with several subdomains and this will offer more concentration on the same brand.

Look into WP multisite. It will allow you to have multiple sub domains use a single database.

If you use Magento how will you share sign ins with wordpress?

    Use Magento free extension [FishPig]
I am not sure if this will work yet.
