WPMulti-site and BP does not seem to work

I have installed WP Multi-site, followed the instructions listed here, for a network wide installation, but install in the root domain of site #4.
where my site id is 4, and the following code in the wp-config.php file in the primary domain
/*Buddypress*?
define ( ‘BP_ROOT_BLOG’, $4 );Then i go to subsite ID=4, based on the instruction listed here.
The BP menu does not appear in site #4 ? it only appears in site #1.
Did i miss something ? seems simple enough, but it didn’t work.
