  • @cornerstonecooking

    Hello,

I working on a simple forums website using buddypress and I would like to add a simple wysiwyg editor to the forums so logged in users can add some basic styling to their posts.

I tried using the plugin bpCKEditor and I couldn’t get it to load.

Anyone have any experience with this?

If you just want forums, try bbPress. It comes with an option for TinyMCE controls. I’ve not used that plugin before I guess it needs an update.

Hey Paul, thanks for the quick reply. I’m actually using bbPress. I don’t see the option to turn on the TinyMCE controls. They don’t appear to be there by default.

Odd — I’m sure I saw references in the code. Will take a look next time i’m there.

Just an update. I found a plugin that gives at least basic functionality.

    https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bbpress-post-toolbar/

It allows for basic text edits and images and stuff so this will work for now. Also it seems like maybe there will be better support for an editor in bbpress 2.1.
