xProfile required fields – ‘select’ default drop down

Hi

How do I make a drop down box mandatory with ‘—select —‘ as the default field. Obviously I don’t want it to be possible to choose ‘—select —‘ as an option. Just the other options in the list.

You could use jQuery to check the value of the drop-down.

Otherwise, you will need to hook into BuddyPress’ validation hook. Perhaps this link will get you pointed in the right direction:
