Can BuddyPress be used as a subscriber-only site requiring login? (3 posts)

I have a client who wants a WordPress website to post videos, blog posts, and information about their nutrition, recipes, and meal plans. We’ve got them covered there. But they also want people to pay a monthly fee to access a ‘subscriber-only’ portion of the website. They would create a profile, interact with other members on message boards, and access special weekly meal plans and recipes. Only subscribers would see any of the content in the BuddyPress portion.
Can we do this with BuddyPress? It would be like requiring a username and password to access the entire BuddyPress portion of the website.
Any information/advice/articles about this would be greatly appreciated!
