When adding a new blog post to the site, every once in a while I’d like to be able to callout my site’s users through the @mention, thereby sending them an email letting them know they’ve been mentioned in a blog post?

Besides the activity stream Is that possible?

I tried to do a search on this site, i’m sure it’s been asked before, but for some reason i’m not having any luck finding what I’m looking for.

if the blog is on the same site as the bp install – you can add the filter to post content which scans for the atme mentions.

the bp function is bp_activity_at_name_filter and probably hook it on the pre save content filter for posts (forgot the filter name off hand)

The blog is on the same “site” if you mean both installations are located at http://www.fromthesurf.com and through one hosting plan, if that’s what you mean.

I’m assuming this has to go in my functions.php file, right? If anyone could give me a little more direction that would be awesome. Thank you!
