BuddyPress

I have a few custom profile fields (First Name, Last Name, State, etc.) in the Base profile group on my Buddypress site.

However, when my members register for the site, the first name field ends up showing their username instead of their first name. What could be causing this?

Every other field comes through fine, but I’m not receiving their first name and their profiles look ridiculous when it says their first name is their username.

Any suggestions?

I have the same problem, that is the member registered and the display name (Full name) is overwritten by username. And also I cannot change it using edit profiles (I typed the new one but it is still overwritten. @r-a-y do you have any other solution? and for edit profile?

I have also tried to change it in MySQL database for a better full name, but after refresh it goes back with username. Very strange
