Problems with functionality on WPMU (4 posts)

Started 1 year, 5 months ago by: planet-narcolepsy

  • I have a new site (http://awarenessmatters.org) I just started with a fress WP install and BuddyPress. The goal is to have a community centered around different topic-specific blogs.
When I go to the main page, I cannot get groups, activity, forums, etc., and nowhere to create new groups, etc.
I have attempted to reinstall bbpress, as well as the full BuddyPress plugin.
WP itself is working fine. I can create users, sites, and manage everything without a problem.
My data tables all appear to be complete and appropriate, no duplicates, but no datas is being entered by BP, I guess.
I did enable multi-site for BP in the WP config as suggested with no change. I’ve tried several themes, all BP compatible, including BP default.

Please help! I’ve never had this problem before, although this is my first experience with WPMU.

    - change permalinks in settings to something other than default – http://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/before-installing/#wp-configuration
    - then change theme to bp-default theme
    - configure BP Components – http://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/configure-buddypress-components/

  • Double-checked: I already had permalinks set to yr/mo/day/name; changed theme to bp-default, and all components are enabled. No change, still says page not found when attempting to go to group or forum pages from main page.

Your new settings – pretty permalinks – aren’t working even for regular pages. I’m getting a “Page Not Found” error for http://awarenessmatters.org/about/ so this is not a BuddyPress error. Apache mod_rewrite must be enabled in your server for “pretty permalinks” to work.
