@LPH2005 posted 6 great thoughts. (This is my vacuous analog to the “like” button or +1 reply, I suppose.)
I commented on the whiteboard (password worked for me too), -
pcwriter started the forum topic New plugin: Add All Nav Links to BP Adminbar in the group Creating & Extending:
Thanks to loads of help from @hnla, I’ve popped my cherry and got my 1st plugin into the repo… hurray! This plugin aggregates all Buddypress directory and WordPress page links into the BP Adminbar. All BP directory pages (Members, Groups, Forums, etc.) are collected in a Community dropdown, including any directories from added plugins like BP-Links [...]

hnla posted on the forum topic Looking for a great 3 column theme compatible with older versions of IE in the group Creating & Extending:
‘Attempts’ being the operative word. it’s a shame as all that’s really required is a little knowledge and experience, IE issues are not really that hard to cope with, the use of combinator selectors that IE6 doesn’t understand is just plain wrong and unnecessary, and generally only used where rulesets were desired to be hidden [...]

Is it possible to prohibit users to edit their entry in a forum after x minutes?
Or, if not, make at least a notification like: “This entry was last changed by at ” ? -

Hey,
Is there a way to have a good forum with categories and everything without having groups? So its viewable and useable to all members? Something like Simple Press or phpbb?

Beck B started the forum topic multiple Private Group membership requests from 1 user in the group How-To and Troubleshooting:
I took one of my new users and requested to join something like 7 of 10 private groups. Then signed in with my admin account (who is also group admin for all groups), and I believe the notification said something like “7 people want to join group” (instead of ” wants to join 7 groups” [...]

agrundner posted on the forum topic Buddypress.org's New Plugin Review Functionality in the group Creating & Extending:
Here’s a thought — and I say it with respect. Maybe @apeatling should just make all the mods to BuddyPress.org public so members can package them up as BP plugins. Would help other devs from trying to re-create the wheel. So far I’ve seen a lot of interest in BuddyPress.org’s unified search, group types, group/plugin home [...]

I always view activity stream at wrong time since it’s always zentai posting. It’s time to give zentai boot once and for all so not reading all spam postings. maybe all 82 status updates with spam? @DJPaul @r-a-y @jeffsayre @johnjamesjacoby @MrMaz

Have to second that. It’s the worst kind of ”Oh, look how interesting to read we made your spam” kind of garbage there is.
Is there a way to flag spam on here, like using an @spam mention or something?

Wait for the BP Moderation plugin by Francesco Laffi to be completed.

Frankly, I’m not getting my hopes up with regards to usable code from the GSOC projects; no disrespect to any of the participants but I’m not counting my chickens before they hatch.

Also, the only people who are admins on this site and Jeff Sayre and Andy Peatling. I’ve only got forum moderator on *some* of the forums.
I don’t even know if we can ban people, since this site shares the wordpress site user database; I think we have to get Andy to do this for us.

Bah, *John James Jacoby and Andy. Sorry Jeff

Just a delete button to remove spam items from our activity streams on this site would be nice

I am busy with a very pregnant wife and a two year old, but I took the time to read this thread and I want to comment about one thing. The “grab a shovel” quote is being poorly used here. If you have a bunch of guys digging holes, and nobody telling them where to [...]
