I started blogging on Blogger back in 2000, eventually moved to using Movable Type, have had numerous blog sites over the years - usually several at once - and after years with MT I finally couldn't take it anymore and made the leap to Wordpress. I can only say, "Why on Earth didn't I do this sooner?" I am using Buddypress on two of my sites, Hooping.org and NightOwlNation.com.

One of our largest groups with hundreds of members is gone and nobody with admin power deleted it. Nothing else is missing so I don’t think it was a hack just to delete one group and not touch the 70+ others. Yet searches here aren’t revealing anybody else losing a group either. I’m baffled.

Okay, if anybody else runs into this the problem I have deciphered that it stems from logging in with facebook and having disabled that plug-in everything is back to normal.

Have you set the timezone for your site in your Wordpress admin settings? Look under general settings and scroll up past all the UTC stuff to find the city near you if you haven’t done so already.
