When new users register, they automatically get 2 invitations:
1- To become friends with the admin.
2- To join one group where the admin is owner.

Is this a bug? Or am I missing the configuration option?

So what I have to do is enable “Logged in users may register new sites.” under “Registration Settings”? Right now I have the first option checked: 1- Registration is disabled. (checked) 2- User accounts may be registered. 3- Logged in users may register new sites. 4- Both sites and user accounts can be registered. Since [...]

I think the best approach for me is the one with users having their own blogs. I feel that a single (main) blog for everybody would be limited. Now, where I’m at is with users that have to go to wp-admin to their wp-profile (which doesn’t seem too bp-like) and find that they can’t post [...]

Thanks people. Here is an update:
I’ve added the MU feature, but now I’m kinda wondering if I have to create every new user blog myself, and grant them the author level manually?

Ok, I have the latest BP installed on WP 3.01. I would like my users to provide content, you can call it a blog if you like. Something other than the forum.

How? Users should go to /wp-admin and there write a blog?

@Kunal17: thanks buddy, that would be great.

@Erich73: using groups was the way you used to do it in facebook, and it was a mess. Thats why the launched the fan page thing ..

I guess that would work, however, the admin of the institutional user would have to logout from his human profile and login to the institutional profile. And you would only have one admin. The way facebook does it, is you can create a institutional profile, on top of your human profile, that way you can [...]

Actually, I’m using the term webinar wrong. What I really want is to be able to hold conferences, meetings, sort of a classroom interaction. Distance education maybe.

The community I’m building is big on education, so I would like to know if there is webinar plugin?
Sort of an event / live video feed / group chat / … well everything normal webinars could have.

Hi, I’m considering Buddypress for a project, however, I need to know if it is capable of having a differente kind of profile, besides the one for humans. I guess the best way to describe it is the way facebook does it, a fan page for “something” (can be an institution, a website, a personal [...]
