Hmm…looks like I made the wrong choice to continue posting on the other thread. I mentioned a couple similar/related features over https://buddypress.org/community/groups/third-party-components-plugins/forum/topic/invite-anyone-invite-by-email-too-please-help-test/?topic_page=11&num=15#post-50961 I’ll just post thoughts about the plugin to this…[Read more]

I haven’t been able to test this completely, but it seems like the automatic group adding isn’t working if the group isn’t set to a public group. If it’s set to private then it seems like it tries to make the request maybe, but isn’t finishing the process of adding the person to the group. […]

techguy posted on the forum topic Buddypress on WordPress vs WordPress MU in the group Miscellaneous: 14 years ago
r-a-y, WP 3.0 will have all the same sitewide features as MU. That is if in WP 3.0 you click the option to allow multiple blogs on the same install. However if you don’t turn that on, then WP 3.0 will act like a single install of WP. I think that’s what Andrea_r meant. If […]

“I think the redesign is O.K., but the most noticeable issue is the light blue text on the white background. It is REALLY hard to read. Definitely not something I would do on my own sites.” In Firefox (and I think other browsers) you can override the stylesheet using an add-on to make it the […]

Try downloading it. If you find a way, then report it as a bug. Although, I’m sure you’ll see nothing.

One other idea. In the link to sign up, why not include the group number (or list of numbers) so that the registration theme page could be customized with a special welcome based on the group that invited them without having to do an extra query to the database to see which group they’ve been […]

Sorry Boone. Yep, it has leading slashes. Seems like end of line/carriage return stuff. I also had some other ideas: -Send again button (a bit controversial maybe) -Link the email address so they could send their own personal email with a link to subscribe (just a simple mailto link with the subject and message defined) […]

techguy posted on the forum topic WordCamp San Francisco – Any BP Peeps Going? in the group Miscellaneous: 14 years ago
Sadly. I wasn’t quite able to swing all the details for this trip. Let’s hope they have an online stream of the event like many other WordCamps.
What about a BPCamp? Is there enough people yet? Or I could convince the people at WordCamp LV to have BP one at the same time probably.

You should be able to edit the wp-config.php file with the new password. That file should be in the public_html folder.
You might also need to change the password in bb-config.php in the same place if you use the forums. I think it probably stores the password there too.

techguy posted on the forum topic Email notification not working in the group How-To and Troubleshooting: 14 years ago
I had this same problem on one of my Bluehost domains. However, I was a little disturbed because I had 2 other Bluehost domains with BP that worked perfectly fine. In fact, one WPMU and one WP install as well. However, the emails wouldn’t deliver. I almost used the mail from plugin, but decided to […]

The default message text includes “nrnr” which likely won’t appear in the email, but shouldn’t appear in the text box either. This was on a fresh install of BP and IA.

“Works fine for me in Chrome. Might be browser caching.”
Cleared the cache and it’s good in Google Chrome now. Interesting that it did that. My bad.

techguy posted on the forum topic Plugin authors: How are you planning to use the new bp.org? in the group Miscellaneous: 14 years ago
This will definitely split the discussion and excitement around a certain plugin. I kind of waited for plugin comments to be made to bring it a recent list and then on occasion I’d read the thread to see the progress made on that plugin. Now I guess I’ll watch the Activity stream for that? Not […]

I’m thinking about catching a flight to San Fran to go to the WordCamp SF. I wondered if any BP people were planning to be at that WordCamp. It seems like a large number of people went to the one in NY, so maybe they won’t be going to SF? Interested to know before I […]

Site is COMPLETELY jacked up in Chrome. I thought something had really screwed up the previous version. Finally opened it in Firefox and it’s completely different.
