Allowing certain characters in user names [.-_]

    Hi there,
    I hacked (sorry!!) BP to allow underscores, hyphens and dots in its usernames. Will I run into problems doing this? Has anyone got any experience with this?

    Feature Request: Have a settings page (or even just a filter, that let’s you hook into) that let’s you define which special characters you would like to include in usernames. Obviouslay only allowing safe ones and ones that work with BP. Hence my question above….
