[Resolved] Auto-generate password & name?

    Hello,

I would like to create a registration form for my buddypress site, that automatically generates a password and a name, so that new users only have to enter username an email-address, like this:

    Username: [           ]

    Email: [            ]

    [Register]

Has anyone tried/done that already? Any plugin or coding suggestions?

    Thanks for your help!

    All the best,

    Streidl

There are some password generator plugins on the WP repo, but all are working on the admin side under add new user.
To generate names, still nothing so far. Would not be complicated to do for 100 user, but if you expect more, you have to reconsider the question.
Anyway, registering is a very sensible part from a security point of view.
    Just my 2 cents.

I know this is an old post but I searched and searched for a solution to this and finally found one today, so will repost here for others. The solution does require installing Gravity Forms, and then you also need to install the GF User Registration Add-On (check the Add-On item in your Forms dashboard menu). Create a registration form with Gravity Forms, then add a User registration feed, and not only can you opt for automatic password generation but you can also map fields to Buddypress 🙂
