Awesome, but you can not use the BuddyPress logo in non-official applications.

+1 – would you please kindly remove the BuddyPress logo. We love it as much as you do, but this app isn’t officially endorsed by the BuddyPress project.

Sorry… it wasn’t out of love, just convenience. I’ve changed the logo.

that is a really neat app and i love what you did with the revised logo i just wonder how much utility this universal app would have for average users since it requires admin level access to plug it in (or at least a fairly lengthy activation process) i wonder how much work it would be to hard code this for a particular site seems like a great and easy way to make a fairly interactive app for any buddypress site.

Probably you are not using proper syntax for your website, or the username is wrong. It doesn’t check for spaces in the URL, so be careful. I suppose I should add some url checks for the preference. Format right now must be http://www.site.com/

Another problem could be your plugins location or some such thing. It’s relying on everything being where it should be. Might help to get a logcat – there is most likely an error there.

    okay

    my site url was

    http://www.site.de/wordpress/

i change it into the right shema http://www.site.de/

    but now it says:

    org.xmlpull.v1.XmlPullParserException:

    unexpected type(position:

    END_DOCUMENT null@1:1 in java.io.

    InputStreamReader@4235a618)

No, it definitely needs the wordpress added on the end… Without a logcat there’s not much I can say. Can you try accessing the plugin page http://www.site.de/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/bpxmlrpc/bp-xmlrpc.php with a browser?

Oh, I think I forgot to mention that the plugin needs to be in the directory named bpxmlrpc as per the above URL… Oops.

i rename the bpxmlrpc folder and now it works perfect:)

    thank you very much:))

    okay…

    next problem:D
i can update my status via the buddydroid app –> perfect!:)
    BUT
i cant view the stream… it says, the stream isn’t aviable yet.

maybe it is because i have a plugi installed which let you only view the website if you have an user account..

    the plugin names “member access”

    can you help me please?:)

    @ddebrich

okay…i deactivate some plugins and i found out, that i cant view the stream because of the “Private BuddyPress” plugin

but i cant deactivate it, because i need it.

    is there any solution?

Maybe… there’s some function in the plugin for retrieving activity items… I’ll look into using that to show the feed.

Just a note that in the latest version of this app, you need to use the modified WP plugin (sorry if this broke your existing setup):

    https://github.com/yuttadhammo/buddypress-xmlrpc-receiver

This removes the need to access the plugin directory, calling instead:

    http://mysite.com/index.php?bp_xmlrpc=true

which also removes the need to call wp-load.php just for the xml file.

BuddyDroid 0.9 is now uploaded; it should allow you to access the feed from within Private Buddypress. Also, please update the WP plugin to the latest version on github:

Now I am trying to figure out how to make the website url default to my website, so that my users only need to put in their username and register.

    @yuttadhammo

@hmfaysal – check out the latest github code; you can just hardcode the website in Buddypress.java by setting the CUSTOM_WEBSITE string and it should work.

@timvango I’ll see if I got a crash report from you… Otherwise, a logcat output would help.
