can't DISABLE avatar

Hi, I was concerned about my site-wide widget showing explicit avatars since I auto-approve BP members. So I wanted to just use people’s gravatars. However, when I disable avatars (relogged to confirm setting changed) users can still upload avatars. I have 1.13 and 2.9.1.1 WPMU.

Check out this plugin – https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/buddypress-remove-avatars/

This plugin will completely remove ALL avatars (including default, uploaded, or gravatar) from displaying on your site. This includes hiding the step for choosing avatars when creating groups or user accounts, and removing the menu items for editing avatars.

I just discovered that none of my buddy press savings are not being saved. From what I’ve tested, it doesn’t matter what I do to disable avatars or disable new users, but I can turn off the forums. Very Strange indeed.
