CAN’T GET THE FORUMS TO WORK

    @yoyotricksnow

    I HAVE BUDDYPRESS INSTALLED ON http://www.yoyotricksnow.com/yoyo/

    EVERYTHING WORKS FINE EXCEPT FOR TWO THINGS.

    THE FIRST AND OF INCREDIBLE IMPORTANCE IS THAT I CAN’T GET FORUMS TO WORK ON IT. I BELIEVE I HAVE THE MOST CURRENT VERSION OF BUDDYPRESS BECAUSE I HAVE INSTALLED IT WITHIN THE LAST COUPLE OF WEEKS.

    WHEN I TRY TO GO TO THE FORUM SETUP TO GET IT TO WORK AND CLICK ON INSTALL ON AN EXISTING INSTALLATION IT ALWAYS SD CANNOT FIND bb-config.php FILE NO MATTER WHAT DIRECTORY I USE.

    I CAN’T UNINSTALL AND START OVER BECAUSE I ALREADY HAVE SOME MEMBERS. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS I WANT TO LAUNCH THIS WEBSITE TO THE PUBLIC WITHIN THE NEXT WEEK OR SO AND I REALLY NEED THIS WORKING BEFORE I CAN DO THAT.

    ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

    MY ONLY OTHER PROBLEM WITH MY BUDDYPRESS INSTALL IS THAT I CAN’T GET FACEBOOK INTEGRATED CORRECTLY THROUGH BUDDYSTREAM….TWITTER WORKS FINE BUT FACEBOOK GIVES AN ERROR SO I DON’T EVEN HAVE IT ON THERE AT THIS POINT.

    IF SOMEONE CAN HELP ME WITH THE FORUM PROBLEM I WOULD BE FOREVER IN THEIR DEBT.

    THANKS IN ADVANCE

  • Woah, don’t shout (uppercase) please.

    Do you need to install BuddyPress’ forums as “existing installation”? If you don’t have an existing, external bbPress installation, click the new install button.

    What @djpaul said, no shouting please.

    “when i try to go to the forums setup to get it to work and click on install on an existing installation it alwats sd cannot find bb-config.php file no matter what directory i use.”
    Assuming you understood that the terms “existing installation” refers to existing bbPress installation, then point to the folder where you existing bbPress is installed. Otherwise, check this out https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/configure-buddypress-components/#forums-setup
