I am also having this problem-though only since I upgraded to Buddypress 1.9. Does anyone know how to get the comments to show again for non-logged in users? I have seen other buddypress sites where I can see the comments without logging in, but maybe they didn’t update? Any help would be appreciated.
@cloudbuilder When you say “the comments”, do you mean *activity* comments? Or do you mean *blog* comments? Or do you mean the entire Activity page, as seems to be suggested by the original poster?
Thanks for your reply. Sorry I meant the activity comments. When a user is not logged in, they can see the posts on my buddypress site, but not the comments to the posts. Once logged in the comments become visible. The public activity comments disappeared when I updated buddypress recently.

Are older versions of Buddypress available? If there is no solution I would like to rollback to an older version.

Is there a way to show the comments in the activity feed to all users and not just those who are logged in.
I know this can be done using “Buddypress Sitewide Activity Widget!” by putting the widget on a page but I would like the comments to show in the main Activity Stream to EVERYONE who visits the site not just those who login.
Also something else I wonder if someone could help with…
I am using Cyberchimps Responsive Theme which works pretty well with Buddypress but I have noticed that if an ACTIVITY ITEM Gets lots of comments; when you click to view them, some of them just disappear. Eg if post has 7 comments, only 4 will be shown?? Any ideas…
I would use other themes but I can’t find anything out there I like and CSS isn’t my thing. Would be better if theme developers could add options to change text and colours etc.
