Is there a way to change which user email settings are selected by default? I think having them all on is unnecessary.

http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/mail-from/ and http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-mail-smtp/ can change wordpress default email settings, but it’s not clear if that’s what you are asking about….
