[Resolved] Different "profile" pages for passwords and avatars

At the moment, there are two “Profile” pages for contributors in my BuddyPress install: one is the standard WordPress profile to change their passwords. The other is the BuddyPress profile page to change their avatar.

Is there a way of adding the password change function to the BuddyPress profile page?

It’s confusing to instruct users to go to two pages with the same name. I’d like just one 🙂

BuddyPress already has a page for changing your password. It isn’t on the profile page directly – instead it’ll be

example.com/members/username/settings/general

I need to provide support instructions, but that URL is relative to the member’s username, so I can’t send a generic link to people.

In what menu does that link appear?

It is part of the settings menu so with reference to support instructions you could put it like this:

Settings > General

Just to note the context – the settings menu on the same level as Activity, Profile, Friends. Account settings is a component that you can enable/disable so it is possible you don’t have it switched on currently. Go to Administration > Settings > BuddyPress and then look for “Account settings”
