Does anyone know how to force groups to show the forum upon entering instead of the activity wall? Same with Profiles? Instead of the activity is there a way to show the Profile first? With a lot of members you start to realize that a lot of people do not know where to click in buddypress to see profiles and forums. They instead post to the activity walls and it causes the forums to become really messy.

Im not sure if your talking about when you log in, or when you visit a persons profile. But, if your talking about visiting a members profile, that shouldn’t be too hard to manipulate which to show first.

if im not mistaken, thats in the home file.

Should go like: Template Dir/members/single/home.php

You can play around with home.php, but be sure to make a copy of the original first, Just in case lol

@iamsincere thanks! I’ll check that out and see what I can figure out. And yes, that’s exactly what I was talking about. Forcing Buddy to see Profile upon opening a member’s profile instead of their activity. And the same in Groups, forcing it to see the forum first instead of activity.

I’ll come back if I figure it out and let everyone know how it went.

Sometimes one needs to try a variety of search terms, spent an age yesterday performing searches on AWS EC2 forum, it also, admittedly, is hard to search if one doesn’t know certain key terms or phrases.

cool, let me know how it goes. im doing something similar, instead of the basic activity page, i want a custom page to show, and i give the user the option to navigate to their activity

this is something that should be group admin choosable and I’m going to suggest choosing a group home page be added to BP 1.4
