Forums not showing up after trunk update

    @bbrian017

Anyone know why my forums would stop showing up after I updated the trunk version of buddy press?

Perhaps I over wrote some files that need information?

When I click the forums link I get page not found.

    Thanks is advance.

    Brian

Check if your bbpress folder is still in place. With that I mean, are all bbpress files there? Probably you need to grab them again and put them in place.

I used the buddy press installation I don’t think it ever actually created a forums directory did it?

    Any other suggestions?

It looks to be an htaccess file issue.

All the forum topics cannot be accessed nor can the forums their selves.

    Any suggestions?

    Need more info.

Do you have an old bbPress external installation from 1.0, or do you use the built in bbPress version that came with 1.1?

Do you have any entries in your error logs?

There is a “forums” folder in the BuddyPress plugin. Within that folder should be a bbpress folder. The trunk version does not include the bbpress folder. So if you overwrote your entire BuddyPress folder (or forums folder)… you would no longer have bbpress installed. If that’s the case, just download it and dump the folder in /plugins/buddypress/forums/

I was using the forums that needed to be set up using the groups. I don’t recall a forum directory but there may had been one. I think I used the built in bbPress version that came with 1.1

Once I overwrote the files I noticed the page was not found.

Good call on the error logs :)

Like David said, the beta includes the files needed to run the bbPress forums. The error logs make it look like they’re not there.

You will need to look and see if there are files in your buddypress/bp-forums/bbpress directory; if not, you’ll want to download bbPress and put it there.
