hide homepage unless logged in

    @briz_dad

    hello everyone;

    I’m new at buddypress and was informed that it will fit the need of my current project… first some intro stuff:

    I’m using WordPress 3.5.2
    Max Mag Theme By MVP Themes Version 1.12
    BuddyPress 1.7.2
    Better WP Security Version 3.5.3
    Wordfence Security Version 3.7.2

    There are other plugins installed that are currently deactivated.

    My project is a news intranet site that has 90% of the content/posts viewable by all registered “members” and 10% individualized by the plant a person works at; about 15 plants currently.

    I currently want to hide the homepage unless signed/logged in to the site.

    The settings for the chosen theme homepage is: “Front page displays Your latest posts”.

    Is BuddyPress the tool to “hide” the homepage unless one is logged in? If so, how?

    I’ve looked for support and so far find just rudimentary support for over-all set-up or dated support that doesn’t address the latest release.

    Also, my plan of action is that everyone that creates an account becomes a “member” of the site to see the 90% “for all” – and individual groups are created for each plant to address the need of the 10% seen only by those plant employees. Am I on the right track with BuddyPress?

    Sincerely,
    Greg
